Boom Ting!
Fridays 10.15am – 11.00am onwards at Saddleworth Museum, High St., Uppermill, OL3 6HS
This is a popular vibrant group in the heart of the village and is a happy place to start your day! It is suitable for children from around 12 months to 5 years and is regularly attended by parents, grandparents and childminders. Everybody welcome!
Price: £3.00 per child. Extra siblings £1. Adults free.




Baby Boom Ting!

Fridays 11.15am onwards at Saddleworth Museum, High St., Uppermill, OL3 6HS

Suitable for babies a few weeks old to almost walking: around 12-15 months.
This baby only session runs after the mixed age group on a Friday and is relaxed and sociable with 30-35 minutes of singing, rhymes, lap songs, tickles, cuddles and lullabies. There are facilities and time for feeding and changing babies and meeting other parents / grandparents. If you also have a toddler please could you attend the mixed age session at 10.15 where babies are also welcome.

Tea, coffee, cake or biscuits are available after the baby group.

Price: £3.00 per baby. There will be no need to pre-book or pay in advance, simply come along to any session!




Farmers Markets

2nd Sunday of every month – 9.00am to 2.00pm

You can buy fresh meat at our market – some local, some quite exotic sounding. Or why not opt for the simple touch with fresh bread and cakes or, if you’re in the mood, melt-in-the-mouth croissants? 




Friends Coffee Morning

2nd Wednesday of each month – 10.30am to 12.30pm
Admission - £1 including drink and biscuits

Run by the Friends of Saddleworth Museum

There’s always a warm welcome for everyone, not to mention the best cup of coffee in Saddleworth all for £1 and that includes biscuits! If you’ve been before, you can renew old acquaintances; if not, you can make new friends. Please join us.  Admission includes refreshments (tea/coffee & biscuits)




Boredom Busters

School Holidays – Tuesday or Thursday
Admission - £3 per child

Looking for something to occupy the children during the school holidays? Saddleworth Museum provides themed creative activities for 4 to 11 year olds during all school holidays. The crafts involve painting, sticking, cutting, stitching and much more.  Volunteers help the children. £3 per child (4 -11 years) Children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult.  Refreshments available. 1.00 – 3.00pm. Reiki Drop-in Clinic

First Saturday of every month
9.30 am to 12.30 pm

Reiki is ancient Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is a very simple, natural and yet powerful technique that can be appreciated by anyone.

You need bring nothing. No appointment is necessary – though a short wait is probable. It is not a massage and you remain fully clothed throughout.

Reiki will improve the results of any medical treatment acting to reduce negative side effects such as those from chemotherapy, surgery and invasive procedures. 

All therapists give their time voluntarily but we ask for a minimum donation of £3 which goes to charity.

Wednesday Tea Dancers

It is not strictly Come Dancing.  The Wednesday Afternoon Tea Dancing is all about friendship and fun.  There are no teachers, you learn from helping each other.  No one frowns if you prefer to sit and chat to your friends for a while. There is a wide range of dances, some modern, some old time, but mainly social sequence dances.
