Dobcross Gets A Shiny New Phone Box!
2nd of October, 2026
Residents of Dobcross will be pleased to see that the village's damaged red telephone box has now been replaced with a brand new one, restoring this much-loved local landmark to its former glory.
The shiny new red phone box takes pride of place in the village and continues to preserve an important part of Dobcross's heritage while providing an attractive feature for residents and visitors alike.
In addition, the replacement phone box has been fitted with a defibrillator, ensuring that this iconic structure now serves a vital community purpose. The life-saving equipment will be available 24 hours a day, providing reassurance that emergency assistance is close at hand should it ever be needed.
The installation demonstrates Saddleworth Parish Councils commitment to both preserving local character and supporting community wellbeing. We would like to thank everyone involved in making the project possible and helping to enhance this valued village asset.
